Understanding Drugs and Addiction
I am writing some important tips and bits that I wrote down while attending Lone Star-Tomball college a few years ago. This is a collection of things I wrote down that Professor Steve Lewis and Dr. Haberman spoke to our classes about. I would love some feedback on what you think about each item. Feel free to comment. I am not responsible to the accuracy or validity of these statements. These are notes I wrote down during lectures.
1) If someone comes of an addiction without getting depressed, there is usually another addiction.
2) Internet addiction is an Emotional Attachment. Family violence is a Behavioral Addiction, just like Criminality (one inclined to commit many crimes).
3) Antidepressants are NOT recommended for people who have NO addictions.
4) The longer a patient stayed in the hospital, the level of the patient’s functioning when down (Mental Health Hospitals).
5) Only about 10% of our person (who we are) is actually seen and known by others. Imagine an iceberg with only a small tip showing above the water is 10%. What is unseen is about 90% (fears, self-doubts, anger, sexuality, etc.)
6) We cannot judge people as most behavior comes from the unconscience mind. (Note: I am not sure I buy into this one completely) ; )
I will be adding more tips and bits at another time. If you agree or disagree, please comment back and let me know why.
Thanks for reading! May God Bless You!
